Call-Out Page: 10/09/05 (Sunday) @ 1830HRS (6:30 P.M.)
SAR Response To: Mount Pinos (Chula Vista, McGill Campgrounds)
SAR Cancellation Page: 10/10/05 (Monday) @ 0130HRS (1:30 A.M.)
Missing Subject: Overdue/lost deer hunter (Non-English
speaking)
Resources Utilized: Command Post, (6) Ground Searchers, (4) SAR
Motorcycle team members.
Search Outcome: Subject was located extremely off-trail by
Sheriff's
helicopter, but helicopter was unable to effect a rescue due to high winds and
terrain. Ground Searchers and Motorcycle teams responded to nearest trail where searchers were directed by helicopter towards
subject. The
subject was aided back to the trail, then back to command post.
Additional Ground Searchers were held in reserve in the event they were needed
to hike in stokes basket or any other technical
gear.

Missing Subject: Lost Off-Roader (barefoot) from broken down
jeep
Resources Utilized: (2) SAR K9 w/Handlers, Joint Fillmore &
Ojai Teams Consisting of: (14) Ground Searchers, (4) SAR Motorcycles & (2)
ATVs
Search Outcome: Subject's footprints were located and tracked by
Ground Searchers. Subject was found by members on ATVs and transported to
SAR command post to be interviewed by Sheriff's officers.
